Former White & Guard director launches local estate agency Rowe & Co
A well-known residential property expert has launched an exciting new estate agency in Hampshire with a focus on providing outstanding local knowledge and raising standards of service for homeowners across the region.
Rowe & Co Homes’ first office is set to open in Chandler’s Ford, Eastleigh, on December 11 and there are ambitious plans to expand to other key locations throughout the area in the next two years.
Managing director Rob Rowe, who has been a local estate agent for more than 25 years, including leading multiple offices for well-known firms – Pearsons and White & Guard – has been joined by associate director James Steele, himself a highly experienced agent, for the launch of the fledgling business.
Rowe & Co, based at Rufus Court, Winchester Road, has been born out of Rob’s years of dedication and passion for the property industry. He said:
“After almost 25 years in the property industry, helping hundreds of people and families to find, buy, and sell the perfect home – sometimes multiple times – I felt now was the right time to launch Rowe & Co Homes right here in Chandler’s Ford.
“I know how fractured and disjointed the process of buying or selling a house can be. For over 30 years our team has been working in the Southampton property industry and we, like many, have felt frustrated with the flaws in the local housing market.
“Too often national and local property firms have neglected the need for real relationships, farming parts of the property journey out by department or outsourced provider and leaving buyers and sellers alike trying to connect the dots on their own. Home-movers no longer experience the ease of building a relationship with an individual agent, having a single point of contact, and streamlining their moving process.”
He added:

Since 1999, Rob has been a staple in the Southampton property scene, working his way up through local independent agencies to become the youngest ever branch manager, opening new storefronts and growing local agencies to new heights. It’s safe to say Rob, a former director of White & Guard, knows a thing or two about Southampton property having lived in the city his entire life. His obsession with property was far from coincidental, with his family’s 11 moves across Southampton solidifying his curiosity about the property industry from a young age. Moving house became a routine for Rob, and it was obvious to him that his career would revolve around helping others find the home of their dreams in the city he loved so much.
Rob is joined by another well known, trusted property professional in James Steele. For more than a decade James has been helping local people find, sell and buy their perfect property in Hampshire and beyond. James found his love for property in Southampton’s busy property market but as a travel lover couldn’t resist spending a couple of years helping people to find and purchase international property. The call of home and the views of the Solent bought James home where he managed two of Hampshire’s busiest branches at Basingstoke and Winchester before joining a local, boutique independent property agency to deliver the one to one service that he felt was lacking in national firms.
